Lacemaker who was the daughter of George and Mary Ann Layman. Her first husband was Captain Hempstead and her second was Samual Carter of Hawaii. She married Carter c.1863-5 and moved to live there before 1903. Her niece Clair Layman went to stay with her in 1903.
