Kelli Cole

Kelli Cole is Director of Curatorial and Engagement (appt 2023) at the planned National Aboriginal Art Gallery in the Northern Territory. She was previously Senior First Nations Curator and Curator of Special Projects at the National Gallery of Australia where she curated many exhibitions during her 16-year tenure, most recently "Emily Kam Kngwarray" (Co-curator with Hetti Perkins, 2 December 2023 – 28 April 2024).

Description

Hosted at the TATE Modern art museum in London, in collaboration with the National Gallery of Australia (NGA), this Australian First Nations contemporary art exhibition is the first large-scale retrospective of Emily Kam Kngwarray’s work to be held in a major art institution in Europe. Approximately half of the 82 artworks on show were on loan from private collections, mainly from Europe but also from the USA.
