Painter, worked as a professional painter in New Zealand c.1865-91. Power died in Australia; his surviving sons included Harold Septimus Power , who also became a painter (illustrator and cartoonist). A 19th century NZ view of Quarantine island, Otago Harbour c.1870s (offered by Sotheby’s in May 2000, lot 171), may be Peter Power’s work, according to Neil Roberts, Senior Curator of Robert McDougall Art Gallery, Christchurch.
