Originating from the early days of the Tin Sheds, Optronic Kinetics was known for combining the technological and the creative together to create conceptual works of contemporary art. Founding members were Jim McDonell, David Smilth and Julie Ewington. Art critic and educator Donald Brook was also influential in the group, through being one of the key figures in establishing the Tin Sheds fine arts workshop in 1969.
